Closing a workbook exits Excel Application

When I close a workbook the application closes also. Is there a way to keep
Excel open and close a workbook. This started happening after an upgrade to
2007.

You can always click on the Office Button (top left corner) and choose Close
(at the bottom). That will close the document you were working on but still
keep Excel running.
