Close the OLE server and restart ... AFTER "Critical" Updates from

I get the message "Close the OLE server and restart it outside of Microsoft
Office Access" when I try to open an Access 2003 database, like several other
people have mentioned.

I had no problems with Access, until I installed some "Critical" updates
from Microsoft. There were no other software or hardware changes made, so
I'm pretty sure this is the source of my problem.

Q295824 suggests turning off Norton features to fix the problem. It then
states: "This workaround may make your computer or your network more
vulnerable to attack ..."

I don't want to leave my computer open to attack, by turning off Norton
features. Norton didn't cause the problem, wouldn't it make more sense to
uninstall the "Critical" updates I received from Microsoft, instead???

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!
