Close OL to notification area icon?

Hi,
When I close most applications that have icons in the notification area, the
icon remains in the notification area. OneNote is an example--minimize gives
a button in the taskbar, close leaves an icon in notification area.

I have OL set up to minimize to an icon in the notification area, but exit
removes that icon--I have to use minimize to leave it there. So I have to
remember that OL is different from my other apps and click minimize rather
than exit, which I often fail to do out of habit.

Is there a way to fix OL so that when I close it the icon remains in the
notification area?

Thanks,

Elbert

No, the Icon will dissappear when you close Outlook.

Well, not exactly. When I minimize OL to the notification area, I get
reminders and stuff. If I put OL in the QuickLaunch bar, it's just a
shortcut--OL doesn't run in the background. I'd have to keep opening it to
see if I have an appointment or task due.

I use ON a fair amount, and clicking close shrinks it to the notification
area. I have to remember that OL is different, that I have to click minimize,
not close. I sometimes click close by habit and miss an appointment.

It would help me (and I suspect others) to have as much consistency as
possible. Even little things waste a lot of time. Try explaining to someone
why it makes sense in Word to enter a superscript with ctrl shift =,
superscript, ctrl shift =, but when you're using Microsoft Equation Editor
you have to type ctrl h, superscript, right arrow. Huh?

Doubt it. The QuickLaunch Bar does the same thing.

Thanks. I hope Microsoft will fix that some day.
