Close Group Option Greyed Out

I have been just using Microsoft Excel program with several sub applications
running.

I have Win XP Pro selected to group similar applications together on the
taskbar. I have just tried to right click on the Excel group to use the
"Close Group" option however it is greyed out, as well as all the other
options Cascade, Tile Horizontally, Tile Vertically & Minimise Group.

When applications with no other similar application is group, when I right
click I can select "Close" no problem, it just seems to only affect grouped
programs.

Any ideas or solutions pertaining to this would be greatly appreciated.

No solution, it's expected behavior. It's usually called 'tabbed instances', and will probably be a (much requested) feature of IE 7
