I found some routines to close a certain program indicating the title of the
window.

How could close all the open programs except Access?

You had better not do that unless the application is just for your own
personal use. Your users will be coming after you in a mob with torches and
pitchforks if you stop whatever programs they have open whenever your
database decides it wants to!
