Hi, I have two computers(both XP licensed) with WinXP
installed on them, and I was wondering if it would be
possible to clone the hard drive of one computer and put
it on the other computer. Would it boot up and run
normally or would I have problems with differences in
hardware and/or legal issues?

Second question, I have one computer that is fully
updated with the latest windows updates, and another one
requiring nearly 40mb of downloads to be up-to-date. Is
there a way I can transfer the updates from one computer
to the other, possibly via a network? Thanks.

Re your first question: if both machines have identical hardware, it
should work. If the hardware is different, then you'd have to do at
least a repair install, maybe a clean install. Second question:
download the updates from Windows Update Catalog and burn them on a
cd-r. Repeat as necessary (a lot).

The rule is quite clear. It's one copy (or one license) for each
computer.

There's nothing new here. This is exactly the same rule that's
been in effect on *every* version of Windows. The only thing new
with XP is that there's now an enforcement mechanism.

Only if you've downloaded the updates as savable files, rather
than just gotten them normally for immediate installation.

I Do have a license for both computers as I stated in
the first message. :)
