Cloned hard drive will not boot

I have a Dell 4550 with Windows XP. I have cloned the hard drive using
TrueImage and installed the drive in a Dell 4100. Upon boot up a 1/2" white
line flashes across the bottom and the computer goes no further. If it starts
in safe mode a list of windows/system32 drivers appear until it gets to
AGP440 and then quits. I tried to reinstall windows with the recovery on the
CD but it gets to installing devices and then keeps restarting the setup.
Anybody got any ideas, I feel like I've tried everything.

If you have a Dell preinstalled version of Windows XP installed
on your Dell 4550 PC, you cannot clone that system to a different
PC. That installation will only install on the Dell 4550 PC.

Carey is not necessarily right. Some versions of XP supplied by Dell will
only work on Dell motherboards. As you have gone from Dell to Dell that is
probably not the problem. The problem is because the two machines have
different hardware the wrong drivers are loaded. If you have a Windows CD
slipstreamed with the same service pack level as the Dell 4550 you can
probably do a repair install and then load the latest drivers for the 4100.

I downloaded all the 4100 drivers to the 4550 before I started the recovery
install and it still locked up. I went and bought a used 4550 and I'll try
that next. Again, thanks for the help, I'll be back if this doesn't work.

Cloning a Dell 4550 to another 4550 works. I've had no problem since, thanks
for the help.
