Clock Year Problem

My clock year every few days goes from year 2006 to year 2406. The month,
day and time remain unchanged, does anyone have any idea what is causing
this and how to fix it?

Laptop or PC? Also does this happen when you are plugged into the building
main power?

If this is noticed when you first bootup then your CMOS battery needs
changing.

Before you mess with CMOS...check this: right-click your taskbar time and
then click "Adjust Time/Date" and go to the Internet Time tab...make sure
the box is checked next to "Automatically synchronize with an Internet time
server"
