Clock Speed Slows Down

I have recently (Feb08) got a Toshiba Laptop Satellite Pro M200 with MS Vista
Business 6.0.6000 OS. Offlate I have realized the clock on the Task Bar slows
down by a min every 2 days approximately.

Is there a way to improve the clock speed. I am anyway setting the clock
every 10 days on my system.

thanks

Hi,

A slow clock while running is nearly always due to interference from another
bit of software. This usually turns out to be your antivirus solution, with
Symantec products being the biggest offender. Solutions? Either get used to
synching your clock more often, or find a different antivirus product. You
can confirm this by simply running with your av product disabled for a few
days.

In case you hear that it may be the CMOS battery, that would not be the
cause of a clock losing time while running. A dead or dying battery would
cause the system to lose track of the time while shut down and revert back
to a default setting each time it's booted. Once Windows is loaded and
running, control of the clock is not dependent on the system BIOS.

Thanks there to you all.
There is a problem in internet time synchronization. When I open the clock
-> third tab 'Internet Time' -> Check the synchro. box -> time.windows.com ->
click update now ---->>>>
the message that gets displayed is:
"An error occured while windows was synchronizing with time.windows.com. The
peer is unresolved"

However, I have already made the changes for 1 day (86400) in regedit.

Thanks again. If you know how to resolve, please do reply.

How do we make sure that time servers are not blocked by firewall. Sorry for
being so low on system knowledge. Really appreciate your help.
thanks

turn off the firewall you have and try pressing the button to see if it
works.

if it does it means its your firewall

then go to the site or help file of your firewall and learn how to add
"exceptions" so that it wont be blocked
