clock setting

Everytime i set the clock on my pc. DELL GX260.
It works fine then after an hour it goes back an hour.
Then about an hour later the clock slows down. I do not
know if this is a software issue or is the clock battery
dying.
I have done all i can regarding changing time zones,
keyboard settings etc etc...
The computer is a member of a domain but does not
synchronise with the server in the domain.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Alan,

Do you have automatically adjust for daylight savings checked or unchecked.

Is the system set to synchronise against an internet time server.
Perhaps your time changing when this synchronisation takes place.
Set your clock then go into the Internet Time Tab and click update now, to
force a sink
If the time changes by an hour that solves why its changing, you then have
to get the combination of time zone and daylight savings time correct.
I'm in the UK so I have GMT and Daylight Savings Time selected so it
automatically adds an hour for BST (Briitish Summer Time)

As for the clock slowing down, it does sound like its time to replace the
cmos battery.
Before it dies altogether, now would be a good time and go into the bios and
make a note of all the settings.
You may lose these when the battery dies, or when you change it.
