clock keeps jumping back

the clock on my Compaq c501nr running Vista basic keeps jumping back 2
hours. It has done this at least a dozen times over the last few
months. WTF?

Is the time zone that you have set actually appropriate for your
location and do you synchronise with an Internet time server ?
