clock gone wild

Incredibly, almost a year after I posted the message below to this
group, the problem has returned. (It went away without any deliberate
action on my part. My PC clock suddently started GAINING 15 minutes
an hour. It's almost certainly software related - among other things,
it's intermittant, and if I reboot, the time is correct when it comes
up - but I haven't a clue about how to track down what's causing it.
I can't identify a likely culprit in the Task Manager processes tab.
Maybe someone has encountered this or at least can suggest a
troubleshooting approach that might lead me to the cause.

Thanks,
Tim
