Clock 8 minutes Fast!

My clock is 8 minutes fast. Everytime I reset my clock it
seems to find itself to being 8 minutes fast? Any Ideas as
to how to fix this?

Also My computer won't shutdown by itself. When I try to
shutdown is tells me it is safe to turn off my computer.

Are you in a domain? If so, report the time problem to your network
administrator. Your clock is most likely synching with a domain controller.

Set it 8 min slow and when it eventually goes 8 min fast it will really be
correct!

Are you connected to the internet or to a network? Both of these may be
overriding your time with internet or network time.
