when downloading clip art into task view pane , from microsoft I take it, it
shows up as
an icon only. This would include all files and all in the search results
scroll box.

what format are they in?
only: jpg, gif, png are used on the web.

If you use the MS Clip Organizer to Insert Clip Art, upon saving the page/web it will (should) convert the .wmf to a .gif. Not sure if you manually insert it into the design if it will convert it or not.

Rob,

All clip art appears as an icon coming from from MS Office clip art page.
This includes wmf and jpeg extensions. It shows that way in the task pane and
in clip art organizer. Properties shows that Windows Picture and Fax viewer
is the default viewer. Changing file associations to Front Page or Office
Picture does not help.
Earlier help instructions does not work either I am afraid. Corrupted file?
Bad file association? I also do not have MS Office, only Front Page. Could
this be problem?

When you say Icon do you mean the white icon with the circle, triangle and square in it?

You're talking about the Clip Art preview that appears in the extreme right column right?

I know, the few times that I use it, that it connects to the internet while I'm searching for a clippy.

That is correct, and it also contains the letters "dglxasset" in the pane.
I've found where one person was was instructed to clear the temp files to
correct this but it hasn't corrected the problem for me.

I'm not sure, but try doing this while you are online, I think those may represent clip art that is on MS's template site. I've always found it a little "goofy" so I don't use Clip Organizer that way it is probably intended to be used.

Thanks for trying to help Rob. I am only having problems with clip art from MS
download. I notice that several others are having problem in the clip art
section
with the clear the temp instruction. I set my temp file to 32 gig. You think
that ought to do it? It ain't happening and right now I am a little upset
about it. Again, thank you for trying to help.

Paul
