Clinton DOJ had nothing to do with MSFT's choice on AV inclusion

C

Chad Harris

You didn't follow the ligitagion in that assessment that
occurred after Clinton DOJ was replaced by a systemic bunch of political
Bush rubber stamps who gutted any semblance of the Biil of Rights and are
going to find much of what they've tried to do now overturned by a House and
Senate that has booted their mafia completely out of control of every
committee there, particularly House and Senate Judiciary with their new
chairmen John Conyers and Pat Leahy including the eggregiously stupid law
that DOJ can use heresay testimony and the defense cannot denounced by the
ABA ans the vast majority of constitutional law professors in your country
the U.S.

MSFT first of all gets smacked legally because their law department is lead
by Brad Smith and Nancy Anderson and they litigate with the "we can do
whatever" and assess later mantra. It's arguably the most hemorrhagic
destructive set of litigation efforts in corporate history and it just keeps
on topping itself. The legal fees and fines for the European litigation are
progressing leaps and bounds and the main defeat cvame because MSFT thought
they could get away with complying on their code and had zilch to do with
utilities like Defender, or inclusion of One Care.

Actually, if you take a close look at how this litigation played out and
settled under Judge Kathleen Kotar-Kelly. it was Bush Ashcroft's DOJ and
Bush Gonzales DOJ that game MSFT the cushiest implementation of a settlement
this side of Britney's settlement with Kfed.

Have a nice read Steve--the major result of this litigation was crafted by
Bush DOJ. In fact a considerable amount of time after MSFT successfully
got Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson and Larry Lessing Special Master removed
from the case by the D.C. Circuit on 4/1/98--several years--it was left to
Bush DOJ to shape the actual details that achieved the result. MSFT made
off like gangbusters in that litigation and it was part of the reason that
they hired the scumbag Ralph Reed the closest associate of new inmate Jack

Abramoff who is looking forward to most of the rest of his prime years in
prison.

Reed was paid $27,000 a month for years until it hit the media. That ended
Reed's career as one of the biggest scumbags to ever be a Redmond MSFT
employee.

Of course Defender could do more and it could have a helluva lot less false
positives and the community could have standardized the nomenclature and
criteria for spyware long ago. Defender has been the slowest work in
progress since elephants embarked on a 22 month gestation for their babies.

Clinton DOJ and the European Union have done nothing to keep MSFT from
embedding One Care's AV code into Vista. What determined this was
greed--they want the money for One Care Live and it's part of the overall
Live strategy that is now being coordinated by new MSFT hire from Ask Jeeves
Steve BerkowitzSenior Vice President, Online Services Group.

MS got spooked by the threats of lawsuits and especially the EU's threats
and crippled most of its utilities. They should have A/V included also and
Defender could do more. Blame it on Bill Clinton's Justice Dept for suing
over Internet Explorer.

John Conyers. Now there's a real gem.

The first sentence is 111 words long. I didn't read it. Neither did I read
the rest of your garbage.

Yes, the way you write is, to me, garbage - no matter what you are stating.

Enjoy his influence on the lopsided assault on the constitution from the
torture memos written after the individuals hid behind Ashcroft and
Gonzales' skirts. Both of them btw never served in any army or war. They got
deferments because they were scared.

If you enjoy the value of Conyers, you're in for a real good bout of
subponaes and laws reported out and passed on the floor without secret
conference committees and the senile old white men who blocked any
significant oversight at all are out on their asses now forever on House and
Senate Committees and for the first time in 14 years. But you and lol Karl
Rove and the rest of the pathetic delusional religious right can keep on
with your delusions.

Its reality on the ground that will matter. A number of US attorneys who
hid behind Republican cover at Main Justice are now going to have their
asses subpoenaed in and their authorship of torture memos exposed.

This was proferred to this group by one comic called SteveC who helped to
give me a real laugh today as the reason why Vista didn't include an AV
program and as part of a complaint that Defender could be better.

It is curious that so many people who seem to have some modicum of education
post their complaints here when they aren't asking for direct help to solve
a problem--for example on Defender or One Care when there are newsgroups
where the One Care Live team actively participates, and both teams have
blogs that encourage emails and comments.

The same goes for Vista. Nearly every Vista team has a blog where they
encourage comments and emails and they are the people who make Vista. Vista
teams makes Vista. I'd take that to the bank. IE team makes IE7. It has a
blog.

I would not post any problems I may have since it would be clearly off
topic.
I have the courtesy to understand what is off topic.
Why do you keep posting off topic garbage?
Never mind, no need to answer since the answer to that is in the 2nd
sentence above.

That is pretty sad, Dick. You are such a pedant/netkkkop that you seem
to obsessively monitor the post for it's statistics (words per sentence,
etc.) before even considering to read it.

Having an opinion that differs from your own automatically makes it "I
am unable to determine" it? LOL, you are in such denial that you seem
to not be able to get to the point of someone else has a different
opinion than you, and even though we don't agree, the difference of
opinion still exists. So now, are you able to figure out I do have an
opinion which means I actually can and do formulate my own opinions?

The plain fact is, his political ranting and ravings do not belong in a
computer ***help*** group. They are helping no one. Neither are they asking
for help. They are sure to turn away people who truly come for assistance,
when once Vista is released to the public.

They come for help, not a course in social/political science.

If it bothers you so much, then why not ignore the posts or use the bit
bucket?

It's hard to believe that it doesn't bother you because your actions
here do not back up your words.
