Client could not connect

I had a good remote connection from my current location
before, but now I get an error message, "The client could
not connect to the remote computer. Remote connections
might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to
accept new connections. It is also possible that network
problems are preventing your connection. Please try
connecting again later. If problems occur, contact your
administrator." What might be causing this? I don't
think the host computer has any of the conditions
suggested by this error message, and I am the
administrator. Thanks.

Are you certain your calling the remote PC using its current IP address?

Good to hear its working...

Is your remote PCs IP as assigned by the ISP a dynamic IP? One solution is to setup an account with
one of the dynamic naming services that map a fully qualified domain name to the Comcast IP. In my
case I use a FREE service from No-IP.com. The No-IP.com software runs on my XP Pro box and on a time
schedule basis contacts the No-IP.com servers. The No-IP.com servers then know what your IP is and
maps that to a fully qualified domain name. That information is then propagated over the public
internet. You could then call the client PC using the fully qualified domain name. It works very
well for me when I call my home network using Remote Desktop.

Double check any firewalls or routers to make sure that they are
properly allowing or forwarding the connection through...

Also double check that you are using the appropriate IP address or
computer name (i.e., use the public internet address when trying to
connect over the internet, the private IP address when behind the
LAN).
