Jeff

We recently had to rebuild our server and reinstall
windows 2000 server, I remember from the original install
that the client limit was defaulted to ten computers, I
have license for fifteen however I can not find where to
change this limit, so my client get an error that no more
computer can join.

Ten is the limit in Windows 2000 Pro not server edition. You can use" net
config server " to view that. Individual shares can also be configured to
limit connections in share properties. --- Steve

Hi Jeff,

By default, Windows 2000 allows authenticated users to join ten machine
accounts to the domain.

Here is an article that will let you change this limit:
251335 Domain Users Cannot Join Workstation or Server to a Domain
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=251335

PS. Using Adsiedit is probably the easiest way to make the change.

Thank You.

Diana.
