Clearing passwords hangs

K

I've had this problem for awhile. Under Internet Options, Content,
Autocomplete and pressing Clear Passwords, I get a few seconds of HD access,
an hourglass, and that's all she wrote. It hangs at this point, even if I
let it sit for 30 minutes. Task Manager shows IE as not responding. This
originally was occurring on Windows 2000 with McAfee, now I'm on the same
machine, but upgraded to XP and Trend Antivirus. If there's a section of the
registry I can clear out, that'd be great with me. Anyone know of a
solution?

Please copy me on email if you respond to this post, I don't frequent this

Hi,
You probably have a damaged registry key.

Try this:
With no programs open,
Run REGEDIT and make your way to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft Internet Explorer
IntelliForms
SPW
Export that key (Registry> Export- just in case you wish to undo the
change) then delete it- just the SPW key.
Restart the computer.

Hope this helps,
Don
