Hello all,

Not sure if I'm referring to this correctly, but I will try and give you
an idea of what it is I'm talking about.

I would like to be able to clear all the 'automatic' stuff that Outlook
caches, for example, while typing an e-mail address, if you have sent to
that person before, then Outlook begins to bring up possible matches. I
would like to clear that.

I would also like to know how do you clear drop-down list that is shown
in the address book under Show Names From The:. I would like to clear
this so that only what is on the server and the users Contacts folder is
displayed.

Thanks for any help rendered.

The nickname file (*.NK2) is found at \Documents and
Settings\<USERID>\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. This file can be
deleted while Outlook is closed.

As for the Show Names From The:, I'm not sure what types of
directories/address books you want to remove. To give you an idea, if you
have multiple contact folders showing, you would select Tools > Email
Accounts > View/Change existing directories and address books. Highlight
Outlook Address Book and select change.

Personal Address Book and LDAP would be done in the same place as above.

If the list you are seeing is from the Exchange server, then that can't be
configured client side. (e.g. Public Folders, All Contacts, All Groups, All
Users)

Thanks Neo,

I do believe that you have answered my question. I have not yet tried
your remedy, but I believe it will work as it is exactly the problems
I'm having.

Thanks.
