Clearing Cache - multiple browser sessions - what happens?

I have two browsers sessions open, then close session A but leave session B
open.

If I then go through the steps to clear cache and cookies, is all cache from
all sessions cleared? Is only the cache associated with browser session A
cleared? is none cleared?

I thas been suggested to me that 'none is cleared' but I have my doubts.

All cached files from all browser sessions are cleared. If you check the
"Delete all offline content" box, all temp files from both browser and
non-browser sessions are deleted.
