clearing address history

Can somebody help me?
I'm trying to clear the URL addresses in the Address
window of the browser... and while I'm able to clear some
of the pages through clearing history from the options
menu off of "Tools"... when I try typing in a new address
into the bar... (i.e. www.washingtonpost.com)... a whole
bunch of URL's that start with "w" still show up.

Can anyone help me clear this stuff?

Chris:
You may have to go into the registry to remove the History
from appearing in the Address bar. Go to Start/Run... and
type regedit. Now use Edit/Find... and type
in "washington", for example, and it should bring you to
where it is stored. You may find a whole collection of
URL's in the location. Go ahead and delete, but be
careful. This is the equivalent of brain surgery.
