Clear resent documents in word

Hello
I wonder how i can clear the list of documents that appears when you in word
choose File/open and then klick on recent documents?
I also wonder where you can set the number of files or the date since files
show in that list?

To select how many files are shown in your recent documents:

Tools | Options | Save | and select the number there. The limit is 9.

I don´t think we are talking about the same list. When I in word 2003 choose
file open and then click on recently used I get a long list of file which I
have used since 2005-05-01, it is a quite long list and it is not just word
files. I have tried to use the clear list in the customize start menu box,
but it does not affect "my" list. I have also tried to clear my temporary
internet files list. But now I don´t know more lists to clear, greatful for
any suggestions
