Clear recent docs in "Save Image As" field

Hello, All!
I've spent the last hour becoming really frustrated.
All I want to do is to clear the recent docs/autocomplete field in an
(explorer) "Save image" window. I'm talking about the window that pops
up when you've got a .jpg image open in your browser, and you rt-click
that image and choose Save Image As, and then an explorer window comes
up called Save image. And near the bottom of that Save Image window is
a field called "file name".
And on my browser when I begin to type in the desired saved-file name
I've got about 20 'autocomplete' suggestions that come up and it's a
hassle.
Please. I'm not talking about the browser's Address Bar. Or the
Windows Search function or the Run function. And I've already tried
clearing the browser's history. And already gone into regedit, in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ComDlg32
and deleted both the subkeys there. Made no difference whatever.

Can someone please tell me how to clear that "File name" field in the
"Save image" window?

Thanks in advance [;-)

If you have a legal copy of xp you can download the micorsoft spyware
program. While you are not having a spyware problem, there are some
additional tools in it that will accomplish this task.
Another option is the following (note: this should not be done unless you
are comfortable with the regestry.

Click Start, Run and type REGEDIT and press Enter

Navigate to the following key:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoComplete

In the right pane, create a new REG_DWORD value named AutoComplete In File
Dialog

Double-click AutoComplete In File Dialog value and set it's value to 0, and
then click OK.

Close Registry Editor

This is not a major edit and it is not like you are deleting and of the keys
(which is a higher risk activity.) If the regestry value is already there
than change the current setting to 0. This will turn off auto complete in
the open and save as dialog.

Hello, EricCasey!
Thanks much for taking the time....Oddly enough, when I followed your
suggestions by creating the new DWORD value, it did not seem to solve
the problem (I restarted the browser, tested it--and the same
behavior). But there was another value pre-existing at the same loc,
called "AutoSuggest", which was set to "yes". I backed up the key and
then changed that value to "no", and the unwanted list of suggested
file names disappeared.
Thanks for putting me on the right path [;-)
(Now if I could only figure out why all the [large] .jpg files I'm
trying to save off Google Images are automatically downsizing
themselves to thumbnail-size and can't seem to be re-used in full-size
form, I'll get this digital brainsucker tweaked even further today!)
