Clear Message Flag and Mark as Read not working

I've created a series of rules to get rid of the spam I've
been getting. I have two rules, one moves certain e-mails
to the junk e-mail folder and another that certain e-mails
to the deleted folder (to be permanently deleted when I'm
sure it works right). I also wanted the rules to clear
the message flag and mark the e-mails as read but these
don't seem to be working. The e-mails are being moved
just fine. Any ideas? Outlook 2002.
Thanks

You need to clear the flags and mark as read before moving the message - do
it using a rule that is ahead of the one that moves.

I did what you said but it still didn't work.
I copied the rule that did it all, moved the copy before
the old, in the copy, I took out the move, in the old I
took out the clear and mark but it still did not mark the
e-mail or clear the flag. It will if I move it back to
the inbox and just run the rule to clear and mark.
Anything else I should change?
Thanks

I now see that this is a bug with Outlook but it doesn't
explain why the rules won't run correctly after I
separated them. Anyone? Another bug? Thanks.
