Background on sites and popups are missing. Someone was trying to be nice
and somehow removed the background on all pages on my grandparents' computer.
It's not unique to any application but two examples. When you're on
Hotmail, all you can see is text and when you're on netflix and there's a
popup, you can see the text but it's overlaid on the other text (there's no
background color)! Please help. I've tried a bunch of things unsuccessfully.

Not real clear on what you're describing.

"...all you can see is text", do you mean that just no graphics are
showing, but you can see the text okay? What browser are they using?
Have you checked to see if loading of images has been disabled?

"when you're on netflix and there's a popup, you can see the text but
it's overlaid on the other text", is the "other text" what is behind the
popup? Is there some sort of program installed that is allowing windows
to set the transparency, and maybe set it too high?

It's actually happening in both IE and Firefox (and sort of in Word). It's
as if the background is set to "clear" most of the time. So, no graphics, no
color. A program installed would make sense, that was one thought I had
after checking a bunch of settings but no programs on the add/remove programs
list popped out at me. I'll check the loading images, but it would be
strange that it's set in both IE and Firefox. I'm having a hard time
explaining the issue because it's so odd.

See if anything here might be installed:

This was one of the free ones on the list I previously sent, but it
could be any number of free or trial programs.

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I looked at the accessibility
options in the accessories but not the control panel. My aunt thought to
look in the control panel and found the issue. Now I know. Thanks again for
your response.
