cleaning off hard drive question

I have a computer with 3 hard drives. One of them is the hard drive
from my old computer. So, it has a lot of programs that the new
computer has on the primary drive. I would like to go ahead and remove
the programs from the extra hard drive. Normally, I would use the add/
remove programs in the control panel. But it doesn't seem to say which
hard drive a program is on. It may only show the primary drive. I
don't know.

What is the best way to remove programs from a secondary drive,
especially if the same program is on two different drives?. I really
don't want to reformat the drive since I could possibly delete files
that I haven't thought about and may want later. Shoudl I just go in
and start deleting folders of things I don't need?

My other two drives have plenty of space, so I am not in current need.
But this drive is mostly serving as a backup right now, and has very
little space left on it, so I don't use it for anything new. I would
like to take back most of it and dedicate it to saving my music files
and photos.

Simply delete the folders; since you have a new o/s drive your current
installation of win knows nothing about these programs.

Thanks.

DO you have any recommendations on transferring a program? I have a
couple that I haven't been able to install duirectly to the new
primary drive, so they still run off that drive, I would prefer to
have all my programs together. Most notably is my wod processor. I
have an older version of works that I prefer. I bought a new copy a
couple years ago, and I lost it. Still in the box and shrink wrapped.
My "new" computer does not have this program, so I have been running
it off the old hard drive.

If you have apps that you are still able to run whilst booting off your new
drive they must be very old and or very simple self contained ones.
Apps installed under win usually insert files and registry entries all over
the place, which allthough there are apps/utilities that claim to be able to
move such to a new win install, makes it impossible to relocate them.

If you are truly able to run these apps when the old drive is slaved try a
simple Folder copy, of the App Folder, to your new drive. Allthough if they
run there is no real reason to move them.

They are older. One is works 4.5. I think it was intended for win 95.
Another is an HTML editor that I like. It was a free download that I
can't find online now.

It doesn't really need to move. I just wanted to get rid of the
program files on that drive to clear out more space, and I have to be
careful not to delete any stray files that it needs to run. And
sometimes, I forget where certain programs are since they are not with
the others.
