Cleaning film with tape?

That link is NOT talking about cleaning film with Scotch tape.

It is talking about cleaning the dust from a Digital Sensor inside the
camera.
I would NOT attempt. Digital sensors are too fragile to be sticking Scotch
tape to.

There are special cleaners for cleaning Digital Sensors.

I was the guilty party placing that notice on the other forum. I would
like to emphasize that I did not intend to joke. If you read the
messages on the link you will see that, indeed, tape cleaning is
practised for cleaning film. My question really related to whether it
would be practical, and harmless to the film, to use the quoted Scotch
Tape for that same purpose. I invite Members also in this forum to
present their views/experiences on this.

I don't know if this is a good idea or not, but I would point
out that the tape he is referring to isn't the standard tape
you buy at most stores.

He is talking about a less sticky removable tape - you would
probably need to go to someplace like an office supply store
or an art supplies store to find it.

From the original message in a previous post.

The gentleman uses "Scotch Removable Magic Tape," take note that this is the
removable type. Number 811. Do NOT use 810.
