I have heard elsewhere of how it is possible to "wash" CD's.

I have to admit that I have been guilty of leaving CD's out of their cases,
and they appear dirty.

Is there any way of cleaning them (safely) ??

yeh, buy a cd/dvd cleaner and solution. also, buy a cd drive cleaner that
will brush the dust off the laser diode.....

Mild soap and water cleans them nicely. Shake the water off after rinsing
and allow to air dry.

The best way is to use isopropyl alcohol, its the same ingredient found
in all the cd cleaning packages.Actually call any stereo shop ask what they
use,they'll say the same,+ it cleans tape heads,hardware assembley,etc...
