Clean uninstall Defender

I have a conflict with ezPestPatrol with a spyware programme I have run in
the past. I have added and removed Defender (via add and remove programs) I
assumed Defender overwrote the previous version - Microsoft anti spyware, but
the error code fro EZ says that some remnant of a previous syware remains. Do
you know what files should be manually removed from the registry to provide
me with a clean uninstall?

Hello 393gorse,

I would suggest, running CCleaner .

Run the above remover in safe mode then Ccleaner on all 3
settings(windows, apps & issues) and clear anything found reboot and see if it
still exists.

http://www.ccleaner.com/downloadbuilds.asp

Note, When you install Ccleaner, uncheck the Yahoo toolbar option.
Note, in Options, Advanced, uncheck - Only delete files in Windows folders
older than 48 hours.
Note: uncheck Windows Defender in the applications.

and do a scan with all the check marks on.
Open Ccleaner and press "Windows" "Aplications" and Run Cleaner from the
menu choose 'Issues' and then press scan for issues, Repair any fºund.
Run twice Ccleaner, the same as above, until you get “0 bytes to be removedâ€.

Scan your computer now online.

Look for the broom Clean up, also Tune Up..

Also you can try HDCleaner

Hi 393gorse,

After you finish with CCleaner, Safety-Live and HDCleaner

This needs to be run in safe mode.

In Windows Programs files, delete all the sub-directorys and the folder MSAS.

Delete in Windows\system 32 :
GcColetion.dll
Hashlib.dll
GcUnCompress.dll
GcTypLibA.tbl
GcAntiSpywareLib.dll
GcUserData.gcg

Also, delete in Windows\Downloaded Installations, any reference about MSAS.

I hope this post is helpful, but we would highly appreciate it if you could
rate the pºst, so we can keep the community informed and saves somebody
else the hours of trawling through the web trying to find a solution.

and other files.

ccleaner is a useful tool and does what it says 'on the tin'

I will follow up on the tips below.
