Clean, stand-alone CD player

Guys

Does anyone know if there is a light, stable stand alone CD player
*only* app out there?

Basically we're locking down media player because people stream
video/audio way too much (and other reasons), but basically want them
to be able to play a CD on their PC.

Is there a nice, free stand alone CD player only app out there?

I know the older Windows sytems used to come with CD player but
unfortunately missing from our base XP Pro images.

Thanks

CDs that is sooo old

Get em to use thier own MP3 Players and remove WMP totally.

BTW Microsoft suppliers have truckloads of EU Spec non WMP XP Pro
editions surplus to requirements, bet you can get copies for next to
nothing.

If you can lock down the system I assume that they do not have administrator
accounts. Then why not log on with your Administrator account and go into
the Folder Options->File Types and scroll down to MP3, WMA and other music
files and remove their association. You need to keep CDA associated with
Media Player if you want to be able to play a regular music CD.

Thanks guys, but the issue im having is I've disabled WMP totally.
Changed the security on it so only admins/system can access it, so no
WMP.

Is there some kind of stand alone CD player out there that you guys
know of, or another light/simple app that doesn't do streaming and only
mp3s/CDs?

Thanks

Why use a virtual CD player? Shut off the computer, remove the
power strip and replace with a SONY CD Walkman.

Umm because tough to find employment as a Sony CD Walkman
administrator.

Basically we have quite a few people that use their PC for data entry
all day long, everything else is restricted but would like to give them
access to playing CDs.

Visit WalMart. Less than $30.00. Here's a SpongeBob SquarePants model,
$29.82:

Even has AM-FM radio and a cassette player! SBSP's eyes don't move, though.
For ages 8 and up (are your employees old enough?).
