Clean Install rejects Product Key

D

Dean Hodgkinson

Hello All,

Can anyone give me help with this? I purchased a new copy
of XP PRO. I did a clean install. Used HD MFG software
to low-level format HD. Used fdisk to create new primary
partion then used "format c:" to put new format on HD.
Rebooted system and booted from CD. Runs through the
beginning of the installation till it asks for the Product
Key. I enter the Key from the CoA (yes I'm sure I entered
it correctly) but I get a screen that states it is not a
legal key. I've been futzing with this for a few days now.
any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Dean;
Are you using the Product Key that came with that CD?
There are many different types and they are not interchangeable.

Look closely I-1, O-0, S-5 and others look alike.
Have someone else try, sometimes another set of eyes and fingers can
get it right.

Otherwise contact the seller for replacement.
