clean install has affected screen resolution

Hi there,
I have done a clean install of windows xp. all seems well but for some
reason its not letting me change the screen resolution. It is set at 800x600
and wont allow me to change to anything higher. I move the slider along to a
( any !!) higher resolution and click apply and the screen goes black instead
of previewing the new resolution. Has anybody got any idea of how to fix this
?

Hi Pampa,
You look like didn't install the Video driver after the clean installation,
try to Install the Video Driver from the CD provided with it, or if you don't
have, go to the Manufacturer website and download the Right Video Driver
which met the Specs of your version from there.
To be sure of that Right click My Computer and Select Properties and on
there click Hardware Tab and Navigate to Device Manager and look for you
Dispay Video.
Right Clcik on it and select Properties and Start from there.
Hope this helps

THanks for that , Other than the OSX CD there is an application recovery CD
which i have not installed. I will check on that to see if the video driver
is on that.
Many thanks for the help.
