If you are on a domain, a domain admin has to change the user name for you.
If you are on a workgroup then the following steps will change the user
name:
1.) Logon as user with local Administrator rights
2.) Open Control Panel
3.) Open User Accounts
4.) Select the user you wish to change the name of
5.) Click "Change the name"
6.) Edit the name and click the "Change Name" button
7.) If you are changing the name of the user that is currently logged in,
you will need to log off, and log back on for the new name to take effect
