Citrix database

Hi,
Can anyone explain the need for citrix database.
I want to check a database in aberdeen.
I used sqlplusw but no response when i login.
so i was asked to check with citrix databse.
I want to know what is the purpose of using it for my case.

Is this a question about an Access database running on Citrix?

Citrix is not a database. It is an overlay to a Windows server operating
system which provides extensive terminal services.

the purpose of using citrix is so that you can deploy desktop apps
across a terminal session-- so that you can pretend that you're sitting
at your home office
