The processor runs at 100% making the 2.4G P4 extremely
sluggish, even if it runs all night. When I stop this
process, the computer works properly. Can anyone help?

Process File: cisvc or cisvc.exe
Process Name: Microsoft Index Service Helper
Description: The Microsoft Index Service Helper monitors the memory usage of
Microsoft Indexing Service (cidaemon.exe) and automatically restarts
cidaemon.exe if it uses more than 40Mb of memory
Common Errors: N/A
System Process: No

To disable:
Type SERVICES.MSC in the Run dialog box, find the Indexing Service in your
list, right click it, select Properties, and then in the Startup Type field,
select Disabled. Restart the computer and it will stay disabled.
If you are never really going to use indexing you can also uninstall it via
add/remove programs under windows components.

Whats the point of having this nuisance service?, I
disabled it and can't see any reduction of performance,
only improvement.

I really don't know the point of the service. Disabling only seems to help
things, I agree.
