choppy sound

using windows media center edition sound is choppy in My TV

I'm guessing you're referring to streaming audio/video - programming
coming straight off the internet.

There are several streaming programming network protocols: HTTP, TCP,
and UDP are the ones I'm familiar with. HTTP streaming is the most
commonly available (server setup is simpler), but is also most
susceptible to problems like you're talking about.

Depending upon the state of the network between you and the server
providing the programming (which can vary considerably by time), you
might be better off with TCP or UDP. If available. Some servers only
provide HTTP streaming.

Try running the Setup Wizard for My TV, see if it finds better
selections for the channels you're interested in.

Unfortunately, making TCP and UDP programming available involves
making tweaks in your firewall or router. Some network admins (in
large networks) refuse to do this; it is a security hole. TCP and UDP
streaming is a "stateless" protocol, which is harder for your firewall
/ router to authenticate.
