I recently had to install a new hard drive. I put in my
XP CD and it ran 3 times before I was able to get into
Windows!? Now on start up I get a screen that asks me "to
select the operating system I want to start with" They
are all Windows XP Home. I found 3 Windows files on the C
drive. 3 had 392 MB and 1 had 1.2 gig so I deleted the 2
smaller ones. Computer still runs fine but I still get
the 3 choice screen. How do I tell my computer I now only
have 1 Windows and get rid of that choice screen? Thanks
for any help. RB

Hi,

Go to Start/Run and type in: msconfig
Then go to the Boot.ini Tab and click on Check All Boot Paths. If you
receive a warning about a duplicate path: Do you want to remove, choose
yes.

Or...

Right click the My Computer icon/Properties/Advanced/Startup and
Recovery/Settings/System Startup/Edit.
