choose an e-mail address that is not the default address

Outlook 2000: when I want to send a message to a contact that has more than
one e-mail address, how do I choose to send to the address that is not
designated as the default? (This is a situation when I DO NOT want to send
the message to the default e-mail address for that recipient.)

Via the Address Book?
I can't confirm what happens by default when you choose New Message To
Contact due to an anomaly here.

Well, it's a situation where I've entered 2 e-mail addresses for a contact.
The first one entered becomes the default. So, when I open a New Message To
this contact and choose the Address Book to enter the recipient's e-mail
address, their default address is automatically entered. However, there are
instances when I need to e-mail only to the address that is NOT the default.
When I manually enter the address I want to send to, Outlook automatically
changes it to the default. This is extremely aggravating.
