chm file - characters size is bocked

Using the standard reader for chm files on windows (XPProsp2) sometimes I
cannot change the size of the characters displayed but when it happens I
opened the same file in a new reader (on OSX Tiger) and I can modify the size
of characters (apple++ or apple+ -).
Maybe the problem is the reader insted of the file...someone know a good chm
reader for windowsXP?
I've tried to looking for a new reader wit google but I've found only a lot
of spam sites.
Is there some options which I have to set to solve the problem?
Do I need to recompile the file and fix something? Is it possible to change
the font?
Thanks in advance.

When I had a similar problem, I shift-clicked on a link in my chm file,
thereby opening the page in an Internet Explorer window, and changed the font
size there. Then I closed and opened my chm file again and the font size had
changed.
