CHKDSK?

I'm having a problem booting Windows 2000 Server SP4. I get a blue screen
with a STOP error in NTFS.SYS. The screen suggests that I run CHKDSK. But if
I can't boot (not even in Safe Mode), how am I supposed to run CHKDSK? Can I
somehow boot from a floppy(ies), or is there some magic key to hit when
booting from a CD or...? BTW I also tried booting from the CD - was going to
choose "Restore" when it got to that menu choice but I end up getting the
same STOP error.

Try booting the Recovery Console, tip 3201 in the 'Tips & Tricks' at
