chkdsk problem

I have Windows Vista (32 bit). When I try to run chkdsk /f at the command
prompt, I get the following message: Access Denied as you do not have
sufficient privileges. You have to invoke this utility running in elevated
mode.

Any suggestions?

Thanks. I just figured that out before your response. Sorry for the
inconvenience. I did, however, have to execute chkdsk upon a restart since
another process was running that interfered with chkdsk.

Again, thanks.

The process that was running is the operating system itself. chkdsk must
make repairs outside of the operating system, before it begins to run.
