I'm having problems with an external HDD and I want to run chkdsk. I invoke
the DOS prompt with chkdsk L:\ and it says that I can't and that I don't have
sufficient priviledges ane I need to be in elevated mode. I am
"Administrator". How do I run this utility??

so basically i did this, search "cmd" in the start menu>open file
location> "select cmd.exe" hit "alt button"> file>run as adminisatrator
then type in "format X: /fs:fat32" be sure to have a raw allocation on
the drive, this worked for my half terabyte so it should work up to 2tb

Oh. Forgive me. I see you're another techarena moron who can't read,
doesn't realize he/she/it is posting to a Usenet newsgroup, and has no idea
how to start a new thread.
