Hi,
When i run chkdsk without /f option on my C: drive its
tell me that there is some error, so i execute it with /f
option and it ask me if i want it to be run on the next
startup, i answer yes.

The problem is that Chkdsk didn't run on next startup,
Anyone can give me a clue of what can do that, where
Chkdsk mark windows to run it on startup when it's
schedule it to run on next startup? where i can look to
find the problem?

thanks!

Do you type "yes" or "Y" (it only needs a "Y"). If that isn't it, it could
be a firewall issue with Zone Alarm version 5.0.590.043 had issues with
running CHKDSK at startup.

Boot with the XP CD, run the Recovery Console by pressing "r" at the first
prompt. Run "chkdsk C: /r" from there (/r implies /f).

This isn't directly related to your specific problem, but it might be
useful to you. I've been finding out of late that chkdsk may report
errors on an NTFS partition when there are none. The particular error I
got was a problem with the Volume Bitmap. And even after successfully
running with /f or /r options, it continues to report errors. I've
posted this problem to this newsgroup in an earlier thread, and have
found similar reports in other forums. The responses I've seen have been
varied and conflicting. However, I've now found that if I boot up in
safe mode and log on as Administrator, I can run chkdsk and get no
errors reported. I'm convinced that in normal mode chkdsk has problems
because there are processes trying to access the disk causing chkdsk to
indicate problems with security descriptors. I would advise only
running chkdsk when in safe mode.
