My event log shows that my partition is corrupted and now, every time
the PC boots up, chkdsk runs.
Nothing is ever shown corrupted in the results and I can use the drive
with no problems.
I followed the instructions on the Microsoft KB article, and ran
chkdsk from the command prompt. Again not a thing is found to be
wrong with the partition.
So I downloaded a file from Kelly's Korner that stopped chkdsk from
running every time my computer starts.
That worked great but the only thing is that I cannot run disk
defragmenter on that drive. When I click to analyze the drive, a
message pops up stating that chkdsk is scheduled to run and to run a
chkdsk from the recovery council. It will not let me defragment the
drive.
All I want is to be able to defragment.
After that I will enter the registry file from Kelly's Korner again if
need be.
Is there somewhere I can stop this schedule of chkdsk?
I checked my scheduled tasks and it isn't there.
Thanks.
