It all started when the computer took ages to startup. I thought I would
chkdsk/defrag, so I did the following. From properties/tools/Chkdsk I got the
answer: The disk check could not be performed because the disk check utility
needs exclusive access to some windows files on the disk. Do you want to
schedule this disk check to occur the next time you restart the computer ? so
I clicked YES.
Then when it started up I got Checking file system on C:. The type of the
file system is NTFS. Cannot open volume for direct access. Windows has
finished checking the disk.
Then I tried defrag and got: Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is
scheduled to run on the volume C:. Please run Chkdsk /f. I have no idea whats
going on. Can anyone help ?
Thanks Brian
