Chkdsk, booting

Do you know why Windows XP Help and Support would not list all the
chkdsk parameters? It only lists /p and /r. Why wouldn't it mention
/f which fixes areas?

I recently had a problem with starting up (XP) and had to reboot with
the OS CD in. When I did, it ran chkdsk automatically and fixed the
problem. Would that have happened if it was an MSDOS boot disk and not
the OS CD?

You are looking at the Recovery Console version, look at the command
prompt version, See link in Related
