CHKDSK at startup

Every time I start winXP, the chkdsk utility is run. I am
100% sure I turned the computer off in the proper manner.

Also, the chkdsk checks another partition than the
partition containing winXP. Therefore I think this has
nothing to do with closing windows correctly or not.

KB article 316506 reports that this could be caused by a
corrupted registry, but the problem still exists after
trying the suggested solution.

Does anyone know what this can be and what to do about it?

Hi!
Click Start >Run >type "regedit" > ok

Navigate to
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
Manager

Double click the "BootExecute" value, and remove all the
entries

If this dosnt clear the problem you may well have a problem
with your Hard Drive go to the manifacturers website for
diagnostic tools.

Another fix for this:-

Disable or Enable CheckDisk Upon Boot (Line 82)

Click on "C" and scroll down to "Chkdsk runs on boot"
