How can i remove a chinese language pack installed on my computer. Lots of
new programs are now installing in chinese and alot of the chatactors show up
when using the web etc.
Thanks

Take a look at Add/Remove Programs to see if you can spot the likely program.

I take it your XP is not the Chinese edition?

In Internet Explorer browser > select Tools, click Internet Options, and then click Languages....
If this box is empty, add English.
If you happen to have 2 or more, move English up on this list.

If Chinese is on that list, select Remove.

Thanks for replying.
My xp is the english version, My language preferences are set to English
but i still have this problem. Couldnt find a language pack in the ad/remove
programs? I will perservere.
Thanks again

For those programs that installed in Chinese, go to Control Panel's Add-Remove programs & remove them.
Were these programs actively installed by "you" or were these possibly from a internet-drive-by install?

Whenever installing programs, do not take the "default" or "typical" install (setup) option. Choose the "Custom" option, which will give you more control over the setup process.

If not installed by you, I'd urge you to do a full malware check.
I recommend an article at Aumha.org on ways to cleanup parasites.
Follow the quick-fix protocol.

Also, take a look at your Internet cookies. Clean (delete) out un-desired cookies.
Use Windows Explorer and look at a folder *similar* to this ---that applies to *your* logon
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER_HERE>\Cookies

Run Disk Cleanup.
