Cheep ink?

I am wanting a new printer + scanner combined. But I don't want to be paying
loads for the ink. Dose any one know of a make or model that takes say £5
ink cartridges or there about?

Like many other things, the cost goes down with larger quantities.
Usually the cheapest carts have the least amount of ink in them.
Would you prefer paying $10 per ounce or $20 per pint ?

Most all of the manufacturers have the ink usage figures posted on their
web sites. Go to www.hp.com, www.epson.com etc. and find the product
data for each printer and look at the specifications page. They will
list the number of 8.5 x 11 inch pages that can be printed per ink cart,
BASED on 15% ink coverage. That means loose text, like a business
letter, and NOT photos. You can compare ink usage that way.

In addition they have data for the ink carts. They usually list how many
cc's of ink each contains and the suggested list price.

The Epson specs I looked at on Epson's site, were based on 5% coverage.
They do not give the cc contents, although they supply valuable information like
you are unlikely to get cancer if you drink Epson ink (it's true, look it up).
