Check Names Feature

Outlook 2003 SP1 and Exchange 2003 -- All applicable names are not displaying
when using the check names feature. For instance for some users when typing
in "hel" a complete list of names will display that contains these letters in
the last name or first name or alias. But on a couple of other user's pcs,
when they type in the same letters ("hel"), they only get a list that
contains these letters in the last name or alias. The list does not contain
first names that may contain "hel". Any assistance you can offer would be
appreciated. Thank you.

Are some users configured for Cached Exchange mode and some not? How does the GAL list names -- last, first or first last?

Yes, the users that are having the problem are in Cached Exchange mode. The
GAL list Last, First.

Users in Cached Exchange mode are using the offline address book, which does not include the first name as a search field. To get OAB v4, which does support first name searching, you need Office 2003 SP2 and Exchange 2003 SP2.
